- Identify, recruit, lead, and develop a regional team of Rare Disease Specialists, providing strategic guidance and support to drive sales and engagement goals while fostering a culture of scientific credibility and integrity.
- Drive field execution of the national sales strategy, ensuring alignment with patient demographics, referral pathways, and centers of excellence.
- Achieve or exceed regional revenue targets following product launch, ensuring strategic execution of commercial plans to drive performance.
- Collaborate with Sales Operations and Training to enhance CRM adoption and optimize reporting tools and dashboard functionality.
- Clearly communicate, reinforce and oversee regional implementation of Salesforce workflows, including lead generation, call planning, documentation, and pipeline management, to support effective field execution and data-driven decision-making.
- Coordinate the development and analysis of territory and regional performance metrics to continuously refine strategy and improve results. Utilize market insights and collaborate cross-functionally to maximize sales opportunities and drive long-term business growth.
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Patient Services to deliver coordinated, aligned HCP engagement.
- Serve as the field voice to headquarters-sharing customer insights, competitive intelligence, and market trends.
- Represent the company at national and regional conferences and launch meetings.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies (e.g., Sunshine Act, FDA promotional guidelines, PhRMA guidelines, Open Payments).
- Champion Disc Medicine's values of scientific rigor, patient-focus, ethical integrity, and team collaboration.
- Engage and inspire employees to create a culture that fosters an inclusive, high-performing team culture grounded in accountability, partnering, learning, and support.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of commercial sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, including at least 3 years in a leadership role in regional or national sales, market access, and/or marketing.
- Proven experience in patient identification and pull-through, utilizing established relationships with dermatologists and hematologists.
- Demonstrated disease and startup biotech environments. Hematology and/or Dermatology experience preferred.
- Success in building and scaling field organizations, particularly in rare disease.
- Experience launching early-stage therapies or building commercial infrastructure for pre-commercial products is strongly preferred.
- Strong scientific acumen with the ability to interpret clinical data, lead scientifically credible teams, and engage confidently with healthcare professionals.
- Deep understanding of CRM, lead funnel management, territory planning, and call execution.
- Solid understanding of payer landscape, patient-access programs, and reimbursement models in rare disease treatment.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret and act on regional performance analytics.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High emotional intelligence with the proven ability to lead remote teams and build cross-functional trust.
- Sound knowledge of compliance frameworks, including the Sunshine Act, HIPAA, and FDA promotional regulations.
- Organized, self-motivated, and effective in dynamic, rapidly evolving commercial settings.
