- Serve as the principal City staff member entrusted with the overall responsibility of implementing the Tualatin Community Climate Action Plan.
- Foster partnerships and act as the City's representative for climate action, collaborating with government agencies, advocacy groups, and community organizations.
- Establish and implement effective metrics to measure and track the success of climate action programs and projects. Monitor and evaluate the City's progress towards achieving its goals.
- Working with consultants and the organization, develop a 5-year prioritized work plan complete with metrics and success factors.
- Monitor and track dedicated revenues and expenditures associated with the Climate Action program.
- Evaluate, develop, and enhance City policies, procedures, and regulations to align with and support the Climate Action Plan. Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations and guidance relevant to climate action.
- Lead and coordinate cross-departmental teams to implement and advance organization-wide climate and resiliency initiatives.
- Develop and administer consultant contracts and grant applications in support of the Climate Action Plan strategies and programs.
- Skillfully facilitate meetings, workshops, open houses, and other public gatherings to engage the community and advance the implementation of the strategies and actions outlined in the Climate Action Plan.
- Plan, create, and implement community engagement and education programs promoting actions that reduce greenhouse emissions and enhance community resiliency.
- Prepare informative summaries, fact sheets, presentations, and reports that are easily understandable and engaging to diverse audiences.
- Regularly provide updates to City leadership and the City Council, ensuring they remain informed about the ongoing efforts and outcomes related to the Tualatin Community Climate Action Plan.
