
K-8 Special Education Teacher & Coordinator

- Directly instruct and support students with a range of disabilities, including learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbances, physical disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized School Education Plans (SEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, leadership and specialists.
- Coordinate accommodations and modifications to meet students' diverse learning needs.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment aligned with Catholic values.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide differentiated instruction and in-class support.
- Conduct assessments to track student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Communicate regularly with parents, faculty, and external support professionals.
- Provide professional development and resources to staff regarding inclusive education best practices.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and applicable educational regulations.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (or ability to obtain one).
- Experience working with students with a range of disabilities and learning differences.
- Knowledge of best practices in inclusive education and differentiated instruction.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Commitment to Catholic education and the mission of Visitation Catholic School.
- Experience coordinating individualized education plans or similar programs.
- Training in multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), Student Intervention Team (SIT) and universal design for learning (UDL).
- Experience integrating assistive technology and adaptive strategies into instruction.
