- Own all facets of supplier activities to ensure compliance with company practices and business goals
- Support Product Managers in conducting key supplier Business Reviews and cultivate lasting business relationships
- Implement performance metrics to report back to suppliers
- Negotiate supplier rebate contracts and marketing agreements to grow collectible for HMD and sales for supplier
- Deploy direct strategies to identify and source new suppliers and products
- Attend industry conferences to investigate new technologies coming to market
- Work closely with Business Development and Legal to negotiate favorable terms with new suppliers
- Develop and coordinate new product launches and marketing promotions with suppliers, including effective sales tools and collateral
- Maintain cross-functional relationships with internal departments including Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, Purchasing, Marketing, Quality Assurance & Regulatory, Legal, Product Administration, and other Thermo Fisher Scientific divisions
- Work alongside self-manufacturing (SMF) divisions and Research and Safety Division (RSD) colleagues to promote and sell Thermo Fisher Scientific solutions
- Cultivate relationships between HMD and SMF commercial sales teams
- Cooperate with Learning and Development on training opportunities such as New Hire Training, for strategic suppliers/products in the category
- Address market and product challenges with support from suppliers
- Remove supplier barriers to close found opportunities
- Augment pricing and positioning strategies within the portfolio to ensure profitable growth
- Obtain funding commitments from suppliers for participation in sales and marketing programs such as the National Sales Meeting, District Meetings and Strategic Supplier Program
- Implement marketing programs to drive profitable revenue growth, achieve AOP objectives and contribute to EBITA
- Bachelor’s degree with major/minor in sciences/business required
- MBA or graduate degree preferred
- 3+ years’ experience with medical or scientific products, clinical diagnostics, product management, marketing, or sales
- Fundamental understanding of group purchasing organizations and how they affect clinical decision-making
- Knowledge of clinical laboratory products and applications, actual working laboratory experience or comprehension of customer requirements in laboratory products required
- Strong business and financial acuity
- Self-starter with the ability to implement plans with minimal supervision
- Analytical skill/s, ability to analyze data
- Confidence to negotiate and manage relationships with Director and Vice President level supplier partners independently
- Ability to offer informed recommendations based on both quantitative and qualitative data with insight on financial drivers
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, customer orientation, presentation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task, to balance immediate priorities with deadlines on longer-term projects and critical initiatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project)
- 25-30% domestic travel
