Learn more about our in our .Project Overview:Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects. As the #1 LNG EPC contractor by installed capacity, Bechtel has the capability to successfully deliver a broad range of LNG projects through our integrated EPC self-perform model, strategic partnerships, and proven experience in LNG project delivery. Partnering with Bechtel means lower cost, shorter delivery schedules, and greater certainty of outcomes for our customersJob Summary:In this role, you will supervise a team of Control Systems personnel, estimate project staffing needs, and schedule and assign work. You will prepare discipline estimates and work plans and review and approve control systems investigations and studies. Your leadership will drive high quality work plans, successful implementation of control system components, team support and training, and project performance. #LI-ML1Major Responsibilities:
  • Plans, develops, directs, and participates in the day-to-day Control Systems engineering activity on small to medium sized projects or a portion of a major project with minimal to moderate complexity within a global business unit utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)​
  • Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of personnel assigned, estimates staffing needs and schedules and assigns work accordingly​
  • Provides the technical input to meet procurement requirements​
  • Prepares or oversees the preparation of Control Systems discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly​
  • Reviews and makes recommendations for the Control Systems engineering aspects of bid evaluations and awards for approval by project engineering​
  • When directed, coordinates with client representatives to obtain their approval of Control Systems engineering aspects of the work​
  • Reviews and approves key calculations, licensing evaluations, design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders, for the project to which assigned​
  • Ensures that assigned Control Systems engineering personnel receive appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development​
  • Assists in the preparation and reviews of project procedures and cost estimates for proposals, forecasts, and change orders
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • ICSS engineer with system design engineering experience.
  • Deep understanding of instrumentation, control valves, and control system networks on large scale facilities
  • Ability to facilitate technical discussions with third parties (clients, suppliers, regulators), where required Prior experience in planning and executing ICSS system.
