- Develop, negotiate, and coordinate clinical trial budgets, in accordance with UC /UC Health policy, federal laws, and regulations.
- Partner with investigators, ancillary services, and study teams to identify research procedures and services needed, budget estimates, and cost details.
- Work collaboratively with pharmaceutical companies, clinical research organizations, and all UC/UCH departments engaged in clinical trial study start up.
- Review research protocols and related documents to assist with budget development.
- Review protocol amendments for impact to the sponsored research budget/contract.
- Identify quality improvement opportunities to facilitate processes related to budgets and other associated services.
- Assist with technology launches and implementation or optimization.
- Work in various research and financial systems/platforms.
- Collaborate with outside coverage analysis vendors and internal study teams to facilitate MCA development for each clinical trial study.
- Provide training, education, onboarding, and mentoring of other team members.
- When appropriate, work with necessary parties to identify compliance, legal, IP and business/financial risk. Mitigate risk through working with physicians/faculty, divisions, legal and/or other departments.
- Support business development opportunities in clinical trials.

- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Law or Healthcare Management.
- Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
- Experience with clinical trials, budgets, billing, accounting, finance, financial analyst or related field.
- Two (2) years of experience in business operations, healthcare, pharmaceutical or academic environment.
- Exposure to Medicare Coverage Analysis, CPT codes.
- Possess broad and deep knowledge of industry contract, budget development and negotiations.
- Extensive knowledge of clinical trials processes.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, attention to detail, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Advanced proficiency in computer software (Microsoft Office; especially Excel).
- Knowledge of Kuali, REDCap, SignalPath and CTMS platforms.
- Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
