The Maintenance Helper works under close supervision of the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair work as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance, as assigned.
  • Maintain the Company's electronic maintenance record keeping system, as required.
  • Assist in maintenance/repair of manufacturing equipment/processes/systems (PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical), including painting, sheet metal work, changing belts, check grease and lubrication levels, etc.
  • Assist in maintenance and repair the facility, which may include utility, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and masonry
  • Clean production machines, particularly on the highest areas of machines that require ladders or special maintenance and/or removal of parts.
  • Perform janitorial duties, including maintaining floors using the floor scrubber, sweeping, and mopping, and emptying trash and recycled materials.
  • Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management.
  • Follow Six Sigma lean manufacturing standards to keep work area clean and safe from hazards.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED and previous experience in Maintenance preferred. Experience with EMaint maintenance work order system is preferred.
  • Must have basic math and computer skills. Ability to use go/no-go gauges, perform visual inspection, and read part drawings for basic quality checks. Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. Ability to work independently and with others. Ability to meet established deadlines. Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail. Ability to learn, problem-solve, and make decisions per work instructions and documents. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English.
Physical Demand RequirementsRegularly required to stand, walk, bend, lift; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach above shoulders, climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must lift and/or move objects up to 70 pounds.
