Job Description:Performs the essential duties and the primary functions of a physical therapist. Responsibilities include but are not limited to evaluating patients, developing goals and treatment plans, administering physical therapy treatments, documenting treatment, and communicating with physicians and other health care workers. Responsible for promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments. Responsible for solving practical problems, dealing with a variety of instructions in written and oral form.SHIFT AND SCHEDULEPRN - Minimum 1 weekend per month and one holiday per yearESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Administer PT modalities, procedures, and protocols according to department guidelines
Provide accurate, timely, and complete documentation
Support and practice in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols
Assumes responsibility for his/her professional development
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Baccalaureate Degree required; Masters or Doctorate Degree preferred from an accredited Physical Therapy program required
Must meet current legal requirements of licensure as a Physical Therapist within the State of Texas
Required to complete eight (8) hours of hospital provided continuing education hours upon hire and annually for Total Joint and Spine. Education will focus on management/care of total hip, knee and shoulder replacement as well as elective spine surgery patients.
