- Performs ultrasound studies while observing patients.
- Connects clinical history, relevant clinical data, lab tests, and other ancillary diagnostic exams to obtain ultrasound exams of optimal value.
- Analyzes diagnostic scans for quality as appropriate.
- Assists patients to and from exam room or table.
- Prepares patients for examination by positioning patients to ensure optimal results and explains procedure(s) and study purposes.
- Reviews current and prior orders and images, checking for correlation between patients’ chief complaints and the studies ordered.
- Processes images and troubleshoots issues with Ultrasound machine and PACS system.
- Maintains records and files to ensure compliance with all state and federal requirements and regulatory standards.
- Manages stock and inventory levels of supplies for procedures according to established standards.
- Participates in performance and quality improvement initiatives and documents quality control activities.
- Performs other job-related activities as requested.
- Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a closely related field of study. Will also accept comparable certificate from sonography program issued before 1999.
- 5 years of previous experience in Ultrasound, including clinical rotation.
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification.
- Current and continuing BLS training and certifications.
- Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
