R.W. Mercer Electrical Contracting is looking for experienced and trained Journeyman Electricians that can work on their own under the general guidance of a Master Electrician. They are responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial electrical systems.COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSR.W.   • Knowledge of local electrical codes
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits
  • Ability to read and understand prints, schematics, and written reference material
  • Ability to focus on a job and complete the same in a timely manner
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Ability to guide and train Apprentice Electricians
  • Self-motivation
  • Takes control and oversees projects
  • Review projects with sales team/project managers
  • Ability to have flexible working hours
  • Respond to emergency calls as needed
  • Acquire proper materials to complete project
  • Maintain a clean, well-serviced and well-stocked vehicle
  • Attend a code review class every 3 years
  • Fill out work orders with time and material rates for billing purposes
  • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the foreman, safety coordinator, or Human Resources.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints
  • Experience with petroleum fueling systems a plus
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalency
  • 4-year apprentice training
  • State of Michigan Journeyman License
  • Valid Driver’s License
