Description :Summary: The Lab Section Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all phases of the laboratory workflow—Pre-Analytic, Analytic, and Post-Analytic—within designated laboratory section(s). This role includes technical and scientific supervision of staff, daily operations, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The Supervisor ensures quality control, staff competency, and adherence to CLIA standards for high-complexity testing under 42CFR493.1463.Essential Responsibilities:Provide accessible consultation to testing personnel via on-site, phone, or electronic communication to resolve technical issues, in accordance with departmental policies.Supervise daily performance of waived, moderate, and high-complexity testing by laboratory personnel.Monitor test analyses and specimen examinations to maintain acceptable levels of analytic performance.Ensure remedial actions are taken when test systems deviate from established performance specifications, as delegated by the Medical (Technical) Director.Confirm that patient test results are not reported until corrective actions are completed and systems are functioning properly.Oversee orientation and training of all testing personnel and students, as delegated.Evaluate and document performance and competency of all individuals responsible for waived, moderate, and high-complexity testing.Minimum Qualifications:Education:Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology orBachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Science, or related field (required)Master of Science (preferred)Experience:Minimum of four years of laboratory testing experience in the relevant specialtyLicensure/Certification:ASCP certification or equivalent nationally recognized certification (MLT/MLS or categorical)Happy to HelpAt Meritus, we believe in a collaborative and caring work environment.
