ResponsibilitiesPosition Overview:
The Sr. Category Analyst plays a pivotal role in execution of the Post Refrigerated Retail Business go to market strategy for assigned product portfolio. This person is primarily responsible for analyzing customer, market, and consumer insight data to build sound business recommendations and develop high quality supporting presentations. This person will supply relevant insights and recommendations, gathered from consumption data (IRI & AC Nielsen), shipment data, spending, and consumer insights for improved capabilities.
The Sr. Category Analyst supports product sales objectives with cross functional teams in Sales, Trade and Brand Marketing. This role will drive product sales objectives for the Post Refrigerated Retail Business by equipping our internal and external teams with actionable insights to positively impact our categories and brands and drive strategies forward. Most analysis completed will be ad hoc or project based.Accountabilities:Presentation Development
- Finalize all data and organize sales story for presentation to Customer Account Managers and/or Customers by developing actionable business insights.
- Communicate business opportunities and recommend action plans by collaborating with Customer Account Managers and/or Customers.
- Assume the main role in presenting insights, strategies, and tactics to business partners.
- Participate with Post Refrigerated Retail Sales Team in identifying and presenting recommendations for category growth.
- Maintain project status by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
- Manage and maintain ongoing relationships for category management activities.
- Develop Category Management relationships at customers that establish Bob Evans as the go-to resource for Category Management insights and business process Best Practices.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Provide category management insights and actionable recommendations that drive category growth for customers.
- Provide detailed category evaluation and recommendations in the areas of product assortment, placement, pricing, and promotion that will drive category sales.
- Provide regular consumption updates with an assessment of brand, category, and competitive issues/opportunities.
- Provide information for customers, field sales, and internal teams using syndicated or customer-specific data sources.
- Bachelor’s Degree or relative work experience required in related field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in analyst role supporting category/sales
- Strong working knowledge of Syndicated Data (Nielsen/Circana, Spectra, Panel Data).
- Experience with Walmart and Sam’s Club systems (Retail Link, Scintilla Charter, Item 360, Madrid)
- Experience with Scintilla platforms: Report Builder, Insights, Shopper Behavior, Customer Perception, Insights Activation, Digital Landscapes, etc.
- Experience with space planning tools a plus (JDA and/or Apollo)
- CPG selling experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
