  • Prepare for the patient visit, including prepping chart, as well as setting up medical equipment
  • Obtain accurate vital signs
  • Answer phones and field questions about medical issues, identifying visit needs
  • Track lab results, call in prescriptions, and handle basic medical office duties
  • Perform basic laboratory test and Newborn Screenings
  • Administer medications, injections and vaccinations as directed by the nurse practitioner
  • Ear piercing
  • Venipuncture lab draws
  • Ordering labs including specialty testing
  • Manage vaccine inventory and complete reports for Vaccine For Children
  • Keep inventory of medical supplies
  • Clean instruments and equipment after use
  • Minor cleaning of clinic daily
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies
Qualifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA),Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA), Preferred
  • 1 year of medical assistant experience. if not certified
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Phlebotomy experience desired
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written
  • Handle administrative duties in a timely manner
  • Strong attention to detail
Job Hours
  • 8:30-5:30 (Monday-Friday)
  • Expected hours: 24-32 hours per week
  • No weekends
