Job Title: Online Store CoordinatorFLSA Status: Full-time, ExemptReports to: Food Access Program ManagerSupervisory Duties: Food Hub Assistants/Market AssistantsWork Locations: Union Kitchen: The Production Facility in NE, DC; WeWork: Office Building in SE, DC. Ability to travel to our different work locations, various markets, & farms.Work Hours: 40 hour Workweek; Monday - Saturday with one day off during the week and Sunday off.
Tentative Start Date: April 2024ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION: Dreaming Out Loud’s (DOL) mission is to create economic opportunities for the DC metro region’s marginalized community members through building a healthy, equitable food system.POSITION SUMMARY: DOL’s food distribution social enterprise, the , consists of weekly Farmers’ Markets, that serves up to 1,200 members a year (and growing!), wholesale operations and value-added products. The Online Store Coordinator will support Dreaming Out Loud Grocery’s operations, help refine operational tasks,support customer service duties, and engage a team of seasonal staff and volunteers that bring our vision to life. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in representing our organization, loves engaging with people, and can handle the complex logistical needs behind-the-scenes with keen attention to detail.Key Responsibility of Online Store Coordinator:
  • Operating the Dreaming Out Loud Grocery website on a daily basis to successfully fulfill all CSA subscriptions & weekly orders placed by customers while also supporting site maintenance and updates.
  • Responsible for keeping up with customer inquiries from the website.
  • Tracking Deadlines to accomplish all goals on time whilst monitoring contingencies & tasks.
  • Delegating tasks to Food Hub & Market Assistants to pack and fulfill all orders on a weekly basis.
  • Following SOPs related to packing & distributing orders to community members, organizations, and other customers.
  • Keeping track of supplies & inventory
  • Packaging and labeling of all of the online store products in accordance with our SOPs, key processes and food safety requirements.
  • Keep accurate financial records of online store purchases; manage payments; manage records of distribution; track and report on distribution errors.
  • Supporting outreach and marketing efforts for Dreaming Out Loud Grocery.
  • Support the curation of weekly shares of seasonal produce for Black Farm CSA, including pricing produce items out singularly for every share and meeting the budget whilst also prioritizing the farm at Kelly Miller and highlighting black farmers in the process.
  • Supervising the quality control, portioning, packing, and delivery of all products going out.
  • Keeping Inventory of all website products in control by supervising the inventory of all products in house to update the website on a weekly basis.
  • Support the culinary production team with creating different products for the website.
  • Ensure quality of all the products being delivered to the customers.
  • Keep track of the timeliness of orders; support refining the ordering process; Identify opportunities for process improvements to better serve our customers
  • Aiding in the success of the retail team by helping when needed with various farmers markets during the year.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong commitment to social justice, our Mission, and upholding our high quality standards
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience (e.g., food service, customer service, small business, etc.)
  • Comfort and experience working and communicating with people from all backgrounds and professions including farmers, truck drivers, warehouse workers, office and non-profit staff, local community members and customers
  • Strong organization, prioritization and short- and long-term planning skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to thoroughly and professionally resolve any disputes; strong, empathetic listener that seeks to incorporate customer feedback into operational improvements
  • Ability to collaborate with a team; committed to maintaining open lines of communication
  • An entrepreneurial spirit that loves to problem-solve and evolve with an organization
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative; strong work ethic and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, databases, communications apps (e.g., Canva, Slack), navigation apps (e.g., Google Maps), and spreadsheets
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Able to regularly push a cart or dolly weighing 150-600 lbs, across a distance of up to 200 yds
  • Willing and available to work some evenings and weekends
  • Ability to operate and train others to safely operate commercial food service and warehouse equipment (e.g., hand trucks, pallet jacks)
  • Willing to drive delivery vehicles, including but not limited to minivans; sprinter vans; panel trucks and SUVs. Must have a clean driving record, active license, and ability to qualify for a vehicle rental.
COMPENSATION: The hourly wage range is $20 to $24/hr based on experience and qualifications.
