- Performs clinical assessment of the patient and conditions in order to select the appropriate equipment
- Perform Two Identifiers and complete hand hygiene. Explains the test to the patient. Instructs and

- Pull correct patient name from list on modality onto ultrasound equipment to maintain record of test
- Moves transducer over specified area of the body and observes sound wave display screen to monitor
normal and pathologic findings.
- Records diagnostic images and data for use by the interpreting physician for diagnosing and archival
- Analyzes sonogram, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history and communicates
- Performs all quality control checks, as prescribed.
- Maintains accurate QC logs, Audits service records, etc.
- Understands and practices proper use of all equipment; never operates equipment inconsistent with
- Completes ultrasound exams at Bennett Breast Care Center consistent with set policies and
- Provides ultrasound call according to monthly schedule
- Assists with daily operation of the ultrasound department

- Specific experience and training in Ultrasound and proficient knowledge of Ultrasound Equipment
Ultrasonography, or has received education and clinical experience and demonstrated competence to
obtain appropriate ARDMS certification within a year of hire preferred.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required. Recertification
- Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology
