- Design, develop and verify complex circuits, modules or systems to meet requirements
- Perform and oversee electrical modeling, simulation, and analysis to evaluate microelectronic assemblies, material properties, signal and power integrity, power delivery, interfaces, environmental effects, Electro-Static Discharge (ESD), etc.
- Conducts technical investigations across multidisciplinary efforts including closer customer support on products
- Research, design, modify, evaluate, and oversee development of complicated electro-mechanical components and systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific applications
- Create engineering design guidelines, work instructions and checklists for design consistency and process improvement to reduce future development cost
- Lead and implement technically complex strategy development that meets system requirements and customer needs for the team
- Lead engineering efforts to support production to resolve manufacturing issues or field failure investigation
- Lead efforts to improve design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA) and design for test (DFT)
- Provide technical leadership and resource allocation for new and on-going projects
- Manage performance of a team of experience professionals through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional products and engagement, motivation, and development of team
- Ensure that cost and schedules are clearly understood by the electrical team
- Ensure that risk management of key areas have been addressed and understood by engineering and program management teams
- Investigates and initiates hardware process improvement of engineering development processes
- Act as technical liaison with manufacturing/operations and program management
- Work with engineering management and program management on budgets and schedules to meet corporate requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering
- Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in hardware design development
- 2+ years in engineering management or technical leadership role
- Experience in high-speed signal integrity design concepts (DDR4, DDR5)
- Electrical system integration experience
- Experience in schematic and PCB design tools such as Cadence, Mentor or Altium
- Knowledge and experience in high-speed protocols (SERDES, PCIE, 100/200Gbe)
- Knowledge and experience with VNAs, TDRs, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers
- Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Experience working on high-reliability designs for Aerospace and Defense, and/or Space applications
- Knowledge of military electrical standards including MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-1399, MIL-STD-464, DO-160
- Familiarity with derating and MTBF analysis of electrical designs
- Experience using JAMA / JIRA / Confluence a plus
- Working knowledge of VITA design standards (VITA 42, 46, 48, 62, 65)
