About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Citrix VDI Architect to join our team, supporting the design and implementation of a Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solution. This role requires hands-on expertise in Citrix/XenApp environments, Microsoft Windows infrastructure, and the ability to serve as a technical subject matter expert for a complex VDI environment.This is a challenging, fast-paced opportunity to lead technical design, provide advanced support, and mentor system administrators in secure enterprise environments. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide level-2 and level-3 technical support for Citrix/XenApp server environments.Monitor and maintain the VDI platform using tools such as NetScaler and ControlUp.Support VDI end-user sessions, stack performance, and handle IT-related service desk requests.Ensure Citrix server systems remain patched and compliant.Oversee XenDesktop Broker and VMware applications responsible for virtualized desktop delivery.Deploy and support Microsoft core services: AD, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, Group Policy.Participate in client meetings, serve as a technical SME, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.Provide one-on-one training to system administrators and team members.Assist in workflow analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause resolution in critical environments. Required Skills & Experience5+ years of Citrix administration experience (XenServer, XenDesktop, XenApp) in production.5+ years with Microsoft Windows Servers & Infrastructure (AD, DNS, DHCP, ADFS, WSUS, etc.).5+ years of design and architecture in VDI/Citrix environments.Experience providing Tier 1 4 support across enterprise environments.Strong hands-on expertise with Citrix App Layering, VMware administration, Windows Server environments.Deep knowledge of Citrix command line commands and ports.Strong written and oral communication skills.Adaptable, flexible, self-motivated, with proven problem-solving abilities.Experience training teammates and collaborating within cross-functional teams. Preferred SkillsCitrix Administration Certification.Experience developing update processes and maintaining enterprise VDI environments.Ability to plan and lead large-scale infrastructure implementations.Strong structured problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.Comfortable addressing ambiguity and conflict in complex VDI settings. EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Equivalent professional experience supporting large-scale enterprise Windows environments and Citrix VDI solutions may be considered.
