- Facilitates Patient Experience best practices on the unit (hourly rounding, etc.)
- Maintains Unit Professional standards. Holds staff accountable for behaviors and attitudes.
- Maintains confidentiality of information of the department. Assists in audits and data collection as requested.
- Contributes to the efficient operation of the department.
- Performs direct patient care and accepts an assigned group of patients as needed.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree (ADN) in Nursing from an accredited nursing college or program
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license cleared by the Kentucky Board of Nursing or with eNLC multi-state practice privilege
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required to obtain within 3 months post hire
- Neonatal Resusitation Program (NRP) required to obtain within 3 months post hire
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Previous L&D experience strongly preferred
- Triage walk-ins to determine if a patient is in labor, water is broken, false alarm, etc
- Support pregnant patients in labor including induction, epidural assistance (if needed), general pain management and fetal monitoring
- Assist and circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections, tubal ligation, cerclage and emergency procedures
- Educate patients on various interventions or procedures - medications (name and purpose), exams, and labor stages
- Assess newborn and provide care
- Communicate with the care management team, including anesthesiologist, physician or midwife, lactation nurse, charge nurse, postpartum unit, patient and family
