- Operate CNC lathes to produce precision parts and components according to specifications
- Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software and G-code
- Set up and adjust tools, fixtures, and materials for machining operations
- Monitor machining processes and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining requirements
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC lathes and related equipment
- Conduct quality control checks and measurements using precision instruments
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machining processes or equipment
- Optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity and reduce waste
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and implement new machining strategies
- Train and mentor junior machinists and operators as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols
- Document production data, machine settings, and quality control results
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in CNC technology
- Proven experience as a CNC lathe machinist and programmer, minimum 3-5 years
- Proficiency in programming CNC machines using G-code and CAD/CAM software
- Strong understanding of machining principles, metal properties, and cutting tool technology
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and gauges
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and ISO standards
- Familiarity with various materials used in machining (e.g., steel, aluminum, plastics)
- Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform complex calculations
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including possible overtime or shifts
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or relevant certifications preferred
