All newly hired employees must be fully vaccinated prior to their start date.Job SummaryThe Senior Buyer performs daily functions associated with the procurement of product for resale as well as consumables. Responsible for developing a best practices approach for purchasing products, at the most competitive price, maintaining supplier relationships, while ensuring the accuracy of all purchasing processes.Responsibilities and Duties
  • Issue purchase orders to approved suppliers.
  • As assigned - issue purchase orders to maintain adequate stocking levels for “A” items.
  • Establish min/max system for replenishment and issue purchase orders for consumables.
  • Perform other daily administrative tasks to support purchasing department.
  • When necessary, expedite product to ensure timely delivery.
  • As needed – assist Quality Department in conflict resolution with discrepant parts, paperwork, freight damage, returns, etc.
  • Create strong and lasting relationships with suppliers.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Minimum BS degree with business emphasis.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a buyer.
  • Strong MS Office skill set with particular emphasis on excel.
  • Strong negotiation skills and relationship building.
  • Organized and accurate in the deployment of purchase orders.
  • Establish rapport with suppliers and maintain a positive working relationship with them.
  • Responsive to the needs of the organization’s service level and stock requirements
Physical Requirements
  • This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
