Payrate: $33.22 - $56.74 per hr. on W2Hybrid - three days in office, two remote (no overtime required)Job Description:
The Contracts Manager is responsible for assessing, analyzing, drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and executing contracts to enable Development Sciences and Translational Medicine divisions and their representatives to efficiently procure services and/or collaborate with external parties. The role ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.Responsibilities:
- Conduct compliant, thorough, and appropriate assessment, analysis, drafting, review, and negotiation of contractual documents.
- Negotiate the best possible contract terms, considering risk exposure, departmental risk tolerance, and organizational guidelines.
- Exercise sound judgment and authority to make legal decisions during contract negotiation with minimal reliance on the Legal group.
- Advise and influence stakeholders and functional leadership on contractual and business terms, as well as process efficiencies.
- Partner with stakeholder groups to assess future needs and proactively implement process changes (e.g., legal, templates, DOA/playbooks).
- Work collaboratively, effectively, and efficiently with all internal and external partners and stakeholders.
- Serve as a resource within the group; may train other contract managers on processes, negotiation strategies, templates, and playbooks. May also supervise.
- Influence departmental objectives and long-term goals; may lead process improvements or other special projects.
- Deliver effective presentations to stakeholder groups and leadership to build understanding of contract purpose and process, while highlighting areas of concern and/or attention.
- Maintain records of executed contracts and respond to audit requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- BS/BA in Business, Legal, or related discipline, or equivalent education and experience (JD preferred).
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer focus with proven ability to build and maintain effective internal and external partnerships.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of industry regulations
- Certification in contract management preferred
- One panel interview with three team members.
- If necessary, a second interview may be scheduled with the hiring manager to determine best fit.
