Job DescriptionThe Events and Education Manager oversees the organization, supervision and execution of both public and private events. Event formats include classes carried out at La Scuola di Eataly, Eataly's cooking school; store buyouts; promotional press events; partnership events; producer tastings; and private dinners and storewide events for 5-1500 people.Reports to the Marketing Manager and oversees Education and Events and service staff.Manages La Scuola Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) teamsOversees correspondence for La Scuola department via email and over the phone including private event requests, class registrations/cancellations and general inquiriesSupervises events at La Scuola: sets up, executes, and breaks down cooking classes, wine tasting classes, communal dinners, private dinners and private receptionsFacilitates communication between the Private Dining Manager and chefs, beverage managers, and event team membersEnsures each individual event is planned correctly and runs smoothly, from front-of-house supervision to behind-the-scenes organization and data entryConceives of and creates public classes, drafting class descriptions, compiling instructor biographies and creating class registration pages onlineDirects storewide events, promotions and partner eventsPerforms other duties as required or assignedQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred4+ years of experience in restaurant operations, sales management, marketing or event planning highly preferredExcellent organizational, project management and time management skillsOutstanding professional communication and editorial skillsAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft OfficeKnowledge of Italian wine and gastronomyJob RequirementsAvailability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends and holidays (shifts may include 10:00AM-6:00PM, 11:00AM-7:00PM, and/or 1:00PM-9:00PM)Ability to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squattingAdditional InformationCompensation:The annual salary range for this role is $65,000-$70,000.Benefits and Perks
