- Perform mechanical tests of a variety of properties including hardness, tensile, fracture toughness et al.
- Prepare and analyze metallographic samples for ferrous and non-ferrous alloys
- Assist failure analysis on products from testing and field application
- Conduct chemical analysis to measure the chemical composition of alloys
- Collect, analyze, and summarize data to support professional test reports
- Maintain a safe testing environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Help with other miscellaneous engineering tasks
- Undergraduate student, Sophomore status or greater, currently working towards a Bachelor's degree (or minor) in Material Science or related engineering disciplines
- Minimum GPA 3.0 or higher
- Experience in materials testing laboratory environment referred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills ( written and verbal)
- Ability to provide well organized and thorough summary and detail information on projects
- Ability to interface with various levels of staff including engineers, management and other divisions
- Ability to perform in a team environment
- Must be a U. S. Citizen
