- Prepare and file customs entries for imported goods.
- Ensure compliance with all U.S. import/export laws and regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in customs regulations and trade agreements.
- Liaise with U.S. Customs, freight forwarders, and government agencies (FDA, USDA, EPA, etc.).
- Resolve issues related to shipments, including holds, inspections, and documentation discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for audits and compliance.
- Provide guidance to internal teams on import/export compliance matters.
- Assist in post-entry corrections, protests, and binding rulings as needed.
- Monitor and manage the status of shipments and customs releases.
- Analyze data and prepare reports on import activities and compliance metrics.
- Performs all other duties or projects as assigned.
- Valid U.S. Customs Broker License (required).
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in customs brokerage or international logistics.
- Deep knowledge of import regulations, HTS classification, and trade compliance.
- Proficiency in using ACE, ABI, and other customs entry systems.
- Familiarity with FDA, USDA, and other Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements.
- May require flexible hours during peak shipping seasons or to resolve time-sensitive issues.
- Strong knowledge of compliance and documentation in both ocean and air freight forwarding.
- Ability to collect, digest, and organize complex information and use experience to present information in an efficient and thoughtful manner with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to write correspondence and to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to show passion for customer service endeavoring flawless execution.
- Ability to multi-task and keep up with a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

- Experience with CargoWise
- Visual requirement is for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- 90% or more time is spent looking directly at a computer.
- Employee is frequently required to stand, walk (or otherwise be mobile).
- Employee is frequently required to lift and carry a minimum of 15 pounds.
- Ability to deal with stressful situations as they arise.
