The ideal candidate will inspire creativity, support whole-child development, and contribute to a positive, engaging learning environment. This position is designed for a certified educator who believes all students can thrive when given access to high-quality, joyful, and rigorous instruction.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deliver dynamic visual arts instruction aligned to state standardsCreate a positive, structured classroom environment that supports student engagement and achievementCollaborate closely with grade-level teams to align lessons, share best practices, and support studentsParticipate actively in school-wide professional development, data analysis, and planning sessionsMaintain regular communication with families regarding student progress and classroom updatesIncorporate character-building, identity development, and wellness into daily instructionUse technology to enhance student learning and maintain documentationProfessional Development & SupportWeekly PD sessions and coaching with leadershipBuilt-in planning periods and collaborative team meetingsFrequent observations and individualized feedbackAccess to a school-wide support team including social workers, psychologists, nurses, and moreQualificationsBachelor’s Degree requiredValid Teaching Certification (CE, CEAS, or Standard Certificate) in ArtPrevious teaching experience preferred (especially in charter or urban school settings)Strong classroom management skills and a student-centered mindsetCommitment to educational equity and whole-child developmentCompetenciesHigh expectations and strong classroom cultureData-driven instruction with a record of student growthCollaborative and open to continuous feedbackAdaptable, reflective, and mission-drivenStamina and professionalism to meet the demands of a longer school day and yearWhy Join This School?A vibrant, mission-driven community focused on student successPurposefully designed classrooms and technology resourcesOpportunities for after-school programming with additional stipendsA culture of reflection, feedback, and continuous improvement
