Come be a part of our mission.Aurora Campus: You'll be joining our Aurora Software and Controls Department which has 200+ Technical staff in various leadership roles, Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Systems Administrators, Database Administrators, and Network Engineers from entry-level to the most senior chief engineers and architects. This engineering organization supports numerous programs within the Payload and Ground Systems organization. We have plenty of opportunity for career advancement into higher level technical roles or leadership positions. We are part of a larger local engineering organization that includes Systems Engineering and Hardware Engineering staff. This overall local engineering organization influences cross-program collaboration, professional development and training, as well as engagement activities such as lunch-n-learns, campus events, and leadership mixers.We are looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineer (Level 3) or a Sr. Principal Software Engineer (Level 4) to augment our team in Aurora, Co.Basic Qualifications:
  • Level 3: Bachelor’s degree in Science with 5+ years of software development experience; 3+ years with a Master's; or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Level 4: Bachelor’s degree in Science with 8+ years of software development experience; 6+ years with a Master's; or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and SCI access prior to start date
  • Experience developing software in Java or .NET
  • Experience with Angular
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket or other Agile tools
  • Experience using Agile principles, processes, and tools
  • Experience refactoring and enhancing software
  • Experience creating unit test cases
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience that spans the full Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks (such as Gherkin or Robot Framework)
  • Experience with cloud computing
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience with Git or other repository tools
  • Experience with JavaScript or Angular
  • Experience as a Scrum Master or management of software engineers
  • Experience sharing knowledge, mentoring, and working in a collaborative environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, testing, and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience developing software in Perl and/or Python
Primary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
