- 3rd Shift Monday-Friday 11:00PM to 7:00AM
- 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:00pm
- Notify management of observed needs on the production floor relating to quality or food safety.
- Support compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, guidelines and governance under the FGF quality Manual and the food safety and quality programs.
- Investigate and analyze product or raw material quality problems and develop, recommend, and implement corrective measures as necessary
- Fry off samples and evaluate results
- Audit sample data taken for use in the implementation of the plant’s IPM (Integrated Process Management) System
- Identify process problems through the use of statistical analysis
- Suggest and implement corrective measures to improve the manufacturing processes
- Record and communicate results through reports, meetings, and voicemail as required
- Monitor incoming raw materials to ensure materials meet our specifications
- Ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards as well as HAACP compliance and other food safety and workplace safety initiatives
- Support activities of other departments such as Production, Dry Warehouse, and Sanitation through auditing
- Communicate with other departments to ensure that substandard product is identified
- Ensure that substandard product is not packed and/or shipped and that it is disposed of as waste, rework or thrift inventory
- Assist in the development of standards and procedures for new and existing products
- Lead and contribute to the efforts of Continuous Improvement Teams
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- 2-year degree in laboratory / food science, or equivalent prior experience in food quality assurance
- Demonstrated knowledge of statistics, SPC fundamentals, and laboratory skills
- Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP and food safety compliance
- Solid computer proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, and Powerpoint are essential
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
- Ability to function and contribute in a team environment
- AIB or other food industry training is a plus
- Saturday Work required (most weekends)
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Ability to visually inspect product and facility
