We invite you to join us as we strive to be The Most Trusted Partner for HealthThe Financial Data Architect for Healthcare Finance is responsible for designing and evolving financial and analytical systems that enable enterprise-wide healthcare financial management, including financial performance analysis, strategic planning, and reimbursement evaluation. This role is critical in designing, enhancing, and integrating application systems that serve financial operations across the system enterprise.As a senior technical expert within the finance department, the Financial Data Architect works closely with Finance and IT teams to implement solutions across existing and future platforms, ensuring high-quality data integration, transparency, and actionable insights. The architect leads by example and contributes hands-on to design, build, and deliver scalable, future-ready technology systems that support the strategic financial goals of the health system.This forward-looking role translates complex business requirements into actionable system architecture and serves as a technical mentor, guiding cross-functional teams in adoption and long-term sustainment of enterprise systems and processes.Responsibilities:The Financial Data Architect responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Leads the design, integration, and implementation of platforms supporting activity-based costing, service line analysis, and strategic profitability.
  • Manages technical solutions to support chargemaster modeling, contract modeling, and price transparency compliance.
  • Coordinates with teams to ensure end-to-end data flow and architecture integrity.
  • Leads solution design and implementation for payor audit support, including underpayment analytics, payment reconciliation, and documentation workflows.
  • Analyzes data and business requirements to develop scalable and accurate financial system solutions.
  • Participates in upgrades, conversions, and implementations for Epic and cost accounting systems.
  • Leads the development and maintenance of data pipelines and architecture using SQL, ETL tools, and reporting platforms.
  • Works cross-functionally with Finance, Revenue Integrity, and IT to align technical capabilities with financial goals.
  • Responsible for root cause analysis of system performance issues and data discrepancies related to finance systems.
  • Owns and maintains the as-built architecture documentation for supported financial and audit systems.
  • Trains other finance resources on the design and functionality of technical solutions.
The Financial Data Architect reports to the Finance Manager - Cost Accounting & Strategic Pricing. This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements.   • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Finance, or related field with and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Associate's degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience; or 8 years of directly relevant experience.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written).
  • Minimum five years of work experience in system design or data architecture, preferably in healthcare finance.
  • Demonstrated experience with EMRs, Activity Based Costing Platforms, or comparable healthcare finance platforms.
  • Experience in payor audit support, including reconciliation and underpayment identification.
  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare cost accounting, charge modeling, and reimbursement methodologies.
  • Proficient with SQL, data modeling, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively design and manage system architecture supporting large-scale financial data.
