It’s a great place to work and a beautiful place to live!Job Summary:Under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician Trainee gains entry level pharmacy technician education, exposure and training in Bartlett Hospital Pharmacy specific procedures and policies and processes. Additional duties include providing pharmacy support services such as assuring proper storage, distribution, packaging and labeling of drugs, and record keeping.Career Ladder: This level is part of a Career Ladder. Incumbents must advance from Pharmacy Technician Trainee to Pharmacy Technician I upon receipt of Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) credentials and completion of entry level competencies. Advancement to the Pharmacy Technician I position is a condition of continued employment.Note: Selected candidates must be willing to commit to an 18 month employment period with Bartlett Regional Hospital following the successful completion of the Pharmacy Technician training program.Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • License: Valid State of Alaska Pharmacy Technician License.
  • Certification: Must obtain Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within the probationary period.
  • Career Ladder: Incumbents must advance to Pharmacy Technician I and successfully demonstrate entry level competency within 6 months.
  • Satisfactory work performance and PTCB certification are required prior to moving up. Advancement to the Pharmacy Technician I position is a condition of continued employment.
