United AI Studio (UAIS) is an end-to-end platform that enables AI/ML practitioners to build, deploy, manage and scale machine learning (ML) and AI applications responsibly.As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the design development and execution of solutions on United AI Studio. You are expected to play a key role in low level design, breaking down into smaller technical tasks, guide and motivate a team of engineers to not only deliver products/solutions but also meet key metrics.You will work in collaboration with the product owner, architects and engineers and leaders - solving their use cases, discussing issues and resolving them.The engineering work is primarily done using cloud-based services like Azure, AWS, and GCP, and it is therefore essential that for our engineers to be successful, they should have experience working on cloud-based services.You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work with the United AI Studio engineering teams to help solve business problems
  • Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all of the team's deliverables
  • Write high quality distributed system software
  • Decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions
  • Perform code review and mentor junior engineers
  • Should be flexible, adapting to meet the needs of the team, project, or product
  • Mentoring and developing other engineers on the team
  • Participate in the entire software development lifecycle - design, implementation, testing, CI/CD and production operations

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • 8+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer or a Software Developer
  • 3+ years of experience in low level design
  • 3+ years of experience in working in any cloud environment - Azure, AWS, GCP
  • Experience working in a complex, service-oriented service development
  • Good understanding of the architecture and good experience in design activities (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling)
  • Good knowledge on technology stack like Java (Spring Boot), REST APIs, Python
  • Solid computer science and development fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build process, testing, and operations
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with at least one relational or a NoSQL database
  • Experience using terraform or other CI/CD IaC
  • Understanding of the architecture and experience in design activities
  • Collaborating with geographically distributed teams
  • Knowledge or working experience on AI/ML projects

The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment.
