Our deep-rooted commitment to excellence, collaboration, integrity, diversity and inclusion creates exceptional educational opportunities which prepare students for success in a global society.Position Purpose:This position serves as the Placement Coordinator for the Office of Professional Practice and Partnerships (O3P), in the Teacher Education Division (TED) of the College of Education. This position is responsible for the placements for all of the college student teachers and student teacher supervisors. This position will report to the Academic Director, Office of Professional Practice and Partnerships (O3P).Essential Functions:Clinical Placements: Manage clinical placement application forms and all submitted applications. Maintain effective communication with partner districts to determine available placements each semester. Place all clinical candidates in partner school districts each semester. Identify and confirm supervisors for each candidate. Confirm MDE-required current background checks for each candidate. Confirm placements with candidates/supervisors/cooperating teachers. Maintain all related forms, documents, and data in e-system(s).Communication: Communicate with candidates about application and background check deadlines, missing background checks, orientation dates, and course registration reminders. Communicate regularly with supervisors and cooperating teachers about placements.Learning Management System/Registration: Cross-check class enrollment with clinical application roster. Ensure necessary documents are posted in Canvas shells.Data System/Scheduling: Ensure all placements accurately submitted into data management system. Cross-check enrollment in data management system. Schedule and track all orientation events/attendance/RSVPs/etc.WSU collaboration and Director Support: Collaborate with and remain in regular contact with the Director of the Office of Professional Practice and Partnerships (O3P), College of Education (COE) Assistant Dean of the Teacher Education Division (TED), Assistant Dean of Academic Service, Advisors, and TED administrative staff. Provide administrative support to O3P Director as needed or assigned.Perform other related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.Reasonable combination of education and/or experience may also be considered.Experience: Entry level (less than a year of job-related experience).Experience working in Higher Education or K-12 schools is preferred.Experience with electronic Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas, D2L, etc.) is preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Team player with ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team setting with sensitivity to the needs of a diverse and non-traditional student population, and with the ability to maintain confidentiality and diplomacy. Able to serve and engage others in a multicultural environment.Interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as partnering school district personnel, faculty, administration, academic and non-academic units, and students.Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to be a clear and succinct speaker who demonstrates active listening skills. Able to help draft, edit, format, proofread, and finalize documents, reports, and materials for informal and formal audiences.Highly organized and detail oriented with ability to adapt to and learn new systems and protocols, identify, and develop improved operations, and help the team achieve established goals and objectives. Able to maintain and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.Problem solver with keen ability to anticipate and assess issues, work to resolve independently or escalate for additional support. Able to research, investigate, and gather relevant information to help identify causes and recommend possible solutions.Ability to work autonomously on various projects and tasks under changing circumstances. Able to accomplish tasks with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
