
Associate – Purchasing Analyst

- Develop and maintain purchasing dashboards, KPIs, and analytics to provide actionable insights to Purchasing team and Supply Chain leadership.
- Analyze trends in purchase order activity, vendor performance, inventory levels, lead times, warehouse capacity, and production schedules to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities.
- Partner with Production Planning, Scheduling, and Engineering teams to align procurement activity with short-term and long-term production demand.
- Support the optimization of MRP parameters (safety stock, lot sizes, reorder points) through data modeling and historical usage analysis.
- Create forecasting models for indirect and GMP materials to reduce overstock, minimize stockouts, and improve purchase timing.
- Conduct root cause analysis on supply disruptions or excess inventory events and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate with Warehousing to evaluate inventory turns and inventory accuracy.
- Develop standard reports and ad hoc analyses for use in purchasing reviews, audits, and business case development.
- Use tools such as SAP, Ariba, and Microsoft Excel/Power BI to build and automate reports and models.
- Assist in material segmentation and classification to prioritize purchasing efforts and storage strategy.
- Identify opportunities to better utilize warehouse space by improving purchasing cycles and material flow patterns.
- Partner with Procurement, Quality, and TS/MS to assess risk and continuity strategies based on material usage and supply criticality.
- Support creation and maintenance of material master data, MRP parameters, reorder points, safety stocks, lead times, and lot sizes etc.
- Forecast and manage material expirations and revisions to prevent production schedule disruptions and minimize destructions and obsolescence.
- Run reports on a timely basis including Open Order Reports and purchasing metrics, including On-time deliveries, On-time PO release, Past due POs, and On-time Incoming inspection.
- Work with Supply Chain team to streamline processes and implement quality improvements.
- Perform evaluations of materials for slow-moving/obsolete inventory and obsolete inventory for destruction
- Support the start-up of the Lilly site, partnering with quality, planning, and procurement to purchase GMP and Non GMP indirect materials required for both start-up activities and routine operations.
- Maintain communication with all operations areas regarding all issues and concerns.
- Monitor inventory levels for non-ERP materials and place orders as needed.
- Drive/assist with materials management activities for Manufacturing, QC, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field is preferred. Experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- 3+ years of experience in purchasing analytics, supply chain planning, or materials management in a manufacturing or regulated environment.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred) and data tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Strong data analysis and modeling skills; ability to synthesize complex data sets into actionable insights.
- Solid understanding of inventory management principles, production planning, and procurement processes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to influence without authority and work cross-functionally.
- Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Experience in manufacturing, procurement, or supply chain preferably a GMP environment
- Knowledge of Indirect and/or MRO materials
- Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or other regulated environment experience.
- Ability to work independently with little day-to-day direction.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills up, down and across the organization
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) or data visualization skills (Power BI, Tableau).
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement methodologies.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE objectives.
- Occasionally need to provide support outside core working hours to assist with operational issues.
