- Perform analyses: bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, and seepage.
- Develop recommendations for shallow, deep, and mat foundations (e.g., LPILE, Settle3).
- Conduct project-specific pavement design.
- Assess seismic response and liquefaction.
- Simulate soil-structure interaction and ground improvement.
- Perform groundwater flow and seepage analyses (e.g., MODFLOW, SEEP/W, Anaqsim).
- Review submittals, conduct QA/QC, and provide field support during construction.
- Observe compaction, instrumentation, and pile driving.
- Utilize digital tools for documentation and collaboration.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, design memos, and technical specifications.
- Summarize lab and field test results.
- Develop borehole logs, profiles, and cross-sections.
- Create technical drawings using Autodesk products.
- Perform data analysis and modeling in Excel, MATLAB, Python, or R.
- Use ArcGIS/QGIS for geospatial analysis and mapping.
- Mentor junior engineers and field staff.
- Maintain knowledge of IBC, AASHTO, and DOT standards.
- Pursue or uphold PE licensure and advanced geotechnical knowledge.
- Education: Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering (required); Master’s in Civil Engineering (preferred).
- Licensure: Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.). (Ability to obtain within 1 year of employment)
- Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in industry-standard geotechnical software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Additional: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
