The Installation Technician II will perform installations of electronic control systems, which may include door access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, low-voltage communication, and fire alarm systems, including cable management, electronic locks, point sensors, signaling devices, and associated hardware. As an Installation Technician II, this person is expected to be a highly proactive and skilled individual and, at all times, maintain performance consistent with Allied Universal Technology Services' core values.What to expect as a Commercial Security Installation Technician II:
  • Install, program and configure commercial electronic security systems for enterprise commercial clients (door access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, low voltage communication, electronic locks, point sensors, signaling devices, ect.)
  • Troubleshoot new security installations to ensure the systems are functioning properly and satisfy codes
  • Supervise Installation Technician I’s on a job as assigned by the Installation Manager
  • Drive to client sites, with a company issued vehicle, to perform the system installation and confirm the system is operating effectively and meets contract requirements
  • Run electrical wiring; related activities to include drilling, trenching, and aerial runs.
  • Responsible for the connection of control panels, application requirements, wire concealment, and security software installation.
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned such as job-site clean-up
QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
  • A minimum of two (2) years of field experience installing and programming electronic security systems for medium- to large-size jobs
  • Ability to be on a rotational on-call duties and occasional overnight travel as needed
  • High School Degree, Vocational School or equivalent is required
  • Valid State Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle required.
  • Meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced, self-directed environment
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with strong mechanical aptitude
  • Maintain accurate daily time entries and provide product training to end-users
  • Military veterans are encouraged to apply, especially those with experience as an electronics technician or aviation technician
  • Possess or has the ability to obtain proper state licensing once hired (Low Voltage D license, Alarm Installer Lic. etc.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION (NICE TO HAVE):
  • Manufacture certifications in any of the following: Lenel, Genetec, CCURE, Axis, Avigilon, DMP, Bosch, Edwards (EST), Simplex, Notifier, Firelite
