ESG Controller: Become the Newest Member of the VF FamilyThe ESG Controller reports to the Vice President, Enterprise Financial Reporting Controller and will work within the Corporate Finance department, which is responsible for the Company’s external financial reporting and global internal controls. The ESG Controller will serve as a key member of the Corporate Finance team that will lead controllership and compliance activities for global ESG regulatory reporting filings with a focus on reporting policies, controls and procedures, data management and assurance.This is an interesting position due to the varying duties for which this person is responsible and provides an opportunity to drive implementation efforts focused on preparing for the new landscape of ESG reporting and global regulatory requirements. The role also provides an opportunity to collaborate and partner with diverse functions and teams across a multi-national corporation. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, self-motivated team player with a very strong working knowledge of financial reporting and internal controls, with specific interest in ESG.How You Will Make a Difference:Serve as the subject matter expert on global ESG regulatory reporting matters within the finance team Partner with other key subject matter experts across global functions involved in ESG regulatory reporting, including sustainability and responsibility, human resources, supply chain, legal, risk management and internal audit to deliver high-quality ESG information and compliance with regulatory requirements Lead the development of implementation and assurance readiness plans for various ESG reporting-related initiatives, such as CSRD, SEC, state and other global requirements Develop an internal control structure around ESG reporting across the end-to-end process from data sources to disclosure Lead on-going efforts to monitor the ESG internal control program, including guidance on process improvements and remediation Perform risk assessments and consult on the adequacy of the design of ESG internal controls and governance Provide guidance to ESG subject matter expert teams on appropriate internal control documentation Integrate ESG reporting processes into existing financial close and other related timelines Maintain strong relationships with auditors (internal and external) to coordinate their roles in the review, oversight and assurance aspects of ESG regulatory reportingSkills for Success:Years of related professional experience: 7+Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study is required; Master’s preferred
  • Experience in accounting/finance, compliance and/or regulatory reporting; relevant ESG experience is a plus
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and public accounting experience is required (Big 4 preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, internal controls, corporate governance and experience applying this knowledge in a professional work environment
  • Understanding of ESG regulatory and data landscape
  • Familiarity with key sustainability frameworks
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Results oriented with ability to handle multiple and competing priorities and requests
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, and collaboration across diverse teams
  • Demonstrated professional commitment, initiative, accountability and ownership of assignments
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:
  • Travel by air and overnight, as required 20% amount of time.
  • Lifting and/or bending, lifting 10 lbs of weight.
#LI-JB2Hiring Range: $91,200.00 USD - $114,000.00 USD annuallyIncentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
