As a Bar Back you will be responsible for the initial preparation and servicing of the bar, making sure that all items are stocked, allowing us to serve our guests their drink of choice.Recognized as one of Milwaukee's most esteemed hotels with an elite award repertoire, Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel offers a modern, luxury experience with artistic flair. With a prime location in Milwaukee's Theater District, Saint Kate serves as a creative hub for the city, where every aspect of the hotel is inspired by music, painting, sculpture, and design. As a part of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, we engage a diverse audience of theater enthusiasts, food connoisseurs, and entertainment seekers.What will you be doing?
  • Prepare perishable garnishes, fruits, and juices according to business levels.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate supplies for bar.
  • Retrieve and verify orders from storeroom for accuracy.
  • Store products properly and in designated areas.
  • Ensure cleanliness and compliance with health standards in bar areas.
  • Scoop and transport ice to service areas.
  • Transport and maintain portable bars and tap units.
  • Assist with additional duties as requested by management.
What we are looking for:
  • Prior bar experience preferred.
  • Must be knowledgeable in preparation of alcoholic beverages including adhering to all State, Federal, and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to ensure proper delivery amounts, understand portion sizes, and assist with inventory.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity of hands and arms in order to use a knife, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, tap kegs, and extend arms overhead to stock items.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate in English in order to provide service as requested by bartenders, managers and guests.
  • Ability to read and comprehend safe-handling instructions of products and equipment.
  • Ability to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move or push goods on hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 200 lbs.
