ABOUT THE ROLEThe Production Slag Supervisor oversees the entire slag production process in a manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient operations, maintaining quality standards, and managing a team of workers responsible for collecting, processing, and handling slag while adhering to safety regulations and optimizing production output.Position Location: Amrize Slag Plant is onsite the Cleveland-Cliffs Steel Plant in East Chicago, Indiana.Position Shift:This role works 12 hour shifts, with 4 days on and 4 days off (Monday through Sunday, all calendar days).This is a rotational shift position, one month per shift rotation, the shift hours are 6:00 - 6:00.WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Monitoring slag production processes to ensure consistent quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Adjusting production schedules and optimizing workflow to meet daily targets and deadlines.
  • Identifying and addressing production bottlenecks or issues to minimize downtime.
  • Overseeing the collection, transportation, and storage of slag materials.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
