Pay will be determined based on experience. Blasting experience, especially underground mining experience is preferred.Rogers Group is currently seeking a Blaster Helper to assist with the daily blasting operations at our Boone Quarry, which is an underground mine in Verona, KY. The candidate will be responsible for assisting the Blasting Crew with daily loading, transportation, storage and security of all aspects of the underground mine blasting process. The person will also be responsible for helping keep and maintain the daily and monthly blasting reports for all explosive materials.QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Uncompromising focus on safety excellence
  • Meet all state and federal requirements to qualify as ATF Explosive possessor (must pass background check)
  • Physically be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Physically able to squat, bend, and twist repeatedly
  • Demonstrated ability to safely perform all essential functions of this position
  • Mining Experience, specifically blasting experience is preferred.
  • Assist the Blaster in pre-shift and post-shift inspection
  • Assist the Blaster in the layout pattern to determine depth and diameter of blast holes and determine number of explosives needed.
  • Assist the Blaster in loading explosives in blast holes, connecting wire, detonating cords, and fuses.
  • Proven safe work record with belief and value seen in courageous leadership model
  • Good attendance record
  • Ability to be an integral team member in a growing, fast-paced environment
  • Proven record with full cycle mining including, but not limited to drilling, blasting, haulage and ground support is preferred.
  • Candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.
