- Mentor and help in the development of less senior oversight personnel with the execution of verification activities, supplier oversight, and resolution of supplier quality issues.
- Managing cross disciplined teams in the execution of supplier oversight activities to verify Westinghouse suppliers have implemented a Quality Assurance Program.
- Develop and implement supplier surveillance and oversight plans for complex and first of a kind procurements to ensure compliance.
- Lead teams in the resolution of complex supplier quality issues.
- Perform verification and acceptance activities to confirm items and services being provided by suppliers conform to Westinghouse purchase order requirements.Lead, co-ordinate and integrate complex projects which encompass multi-areas. Monitor progress and direct teams to achieve established quality goals within budgetary and schedule constraints.
- Create certification documents, which identify the procurement requirements met by the purchased material or equipment, such as codes, standards, and other specifications imposed by Westinghouse Customers, for major equipment and components.
- Lead assessments of the global supply base to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, codes and standards.
- Evaluate supplier quality plans and processes to verify compliance to quality and technical requirements defined by Westinghouse EngineeringPerform reviews of procurement documents to verify technical and quality requirements have been correctly translated from Westinghouse design documents and Customer contracts
- Follow-up on supplier corrective action, evaluate responses and ensure objective evidence substantiates closure.
- Apply advanced quality control techniques and statistical methods for collection of deficiency information to identify failure causes and trends, rate performance and measure the effectiveness of supplier QA programs, and internal processes.
- Provide input to business development, supply chain, and other departments throughout Westinghouse concerning supplier qualification and development
- Write detailed segments of QA plans/programs according to current U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Westinghouse and customer QA standards for nuclear and non nuclear facilities. Implement policies on scope and retention requirements of quality assurance documentation.
- Be primary Supplier Quality interface for reviewing bid specifications, licensing write ups, proposals, purchase order requisitions, supplier submittals, and other documentation to verify compliance with technical QA requirements for nuclear and non nuclear components. Identify deviations which could create safety hazards or malfunctions and return associated documentation to design engineering or higher level QA personnel with recommended solutions
- Investigate and report on compliance with technical specifications and verify accuracy of procedures, tests and records. Review inspection and non destructive test procedures to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications. Perform precision measurements, physical or electrical tests on complex materials, components and systems.
- 5+ years of applicable experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Required.
- 5+ years of supplier oversight experience is required. An NQA-1 Certified Lead Auditor certification is desirable.
- Achieve lead auditor qualifications (ANSI 45.2.23/NQA-1) and inspector qualification (ANSI N45.2.9/NQA-1) is required
- Achieve inspector qualification (ANSI N45.2.9/NQA-1).
- Working knowledge and application with US NRC Regulations and European Standards such as 10CFR50 Appendix B and 10CFR21; and national standards of quality assurance, such as, ASME B&PV Code, ISO, ANSI ASME NQA-1 ESPN, RCC-M, RCC-E, ISO 9001, ISO 9712 and Appendices, ANSI N45.2 and the daughter standards, IEEE Standards. Familiarity with NDE techniques and applicable practices such as SNT-TC-1A, ESPN / RCC.
- Valid passport (or ability to obtain one) is required, as is ability to travel internationally for periods of up to three weeks. Position requires 25-50% travel.
