Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer/Operator to join our production team. This individual will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, programming CNC machines, and overseeing the setup and operation of a Haas VF-8/40 CNC milling machine. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Machine Programming: Use CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, FeatureCAM) to program CNC machines for precision machining.
- Machine Setup: Install tools, load raw materials, and configure machines to meet production specs.
- Operation: Operate a Haas VF-8/40 CNC milling machine, ensuring adherence to quality and production standards.
- Adjustments & Calibration: Make necessary adjustments to programs and machine settings to maintain optimal performance.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct first article inspections and in-process quality checks to ensure compliance with design and tolerances.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, keep machines clean, and maintain detailed logs of maintenance and production.
- Scrap Management: Monitor and dispose of scrap material to maintain a safe and efficient work area.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience or training in CNC machining; equivalent education/experience considered.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. Technical or vocational certification in CNC machining is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in CNC programming and operation
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM tools (SolidWorks, FeatureCAM preferred)
- Experience with Haas VF-8/40 or similar machines highly preferred
- Independence: Must be self-motivated and capable of working without direct supervision.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot programming or machine issues.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Comfortable working with complex machinery and understanding tooling concepts.
- Organizational Skills: Accurate record-keeping and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Communication & Teamwork: Strong verbal and written communication skills; works well in a collaborative team setting.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to pass a physical examination, including vision, hearing, and mobility assessments.
