- Support classroom instruction by helping prepare materials, organizing supplies, and assisting with technology or presentations.
- Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students who need extra help with assignments, directions, or skills practice.
- Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, or other non-classroom times to maintain safety and order.
- Assist with classroom management by reinforcing rules, redirecting off-task behavior, and encouraging positive interactions.
- Support recordkeeping and organization by tracking assignments, filing paperwork, and maintaining bulletin boards or learning displays.
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma; or four years of experience and knowledge where specialized duties are involved
- Ability to work with student(s)
- Patience in dealing with students with disabilities
- Good communication skills
- Empathetic but able to positively motivate students to do well
- Teacher aide or personal care aide experience preferred
- SCIP training preferred
