Start Date: ImmediateAbout the RoleWe are seeking a caring, creative, and reliable private teacher/mentor to support a 9th grade student who is homeschooled. This role blends traditional academic guidance with practical life skills, hands-on learning, and fun educational experiences. The ideal candidate enjoys teaching, planning engaging activities, and helping a student grow both academically and personally.ResponsibilitiesProvide academic support with homeschool assignments (9th grade level).Teach practical life skills, including:How to start and run a small businessBudgeting, saving money, and using a checking accountBasic cooking and meal preparationHome organization and cleaning skillsPlan and lead enriching activities such as:Science experimentsMuseum visits, field trips, and nature/outdoor learningVolunteer opportunities and community involvementEncourage curiosity, independence, and confidence in learning.Communicate with parent to align on weekly goals and progress.QualificationsExperience teaching, tutoring, or mentoring teens (formal teaching degree not required).Strong interest in both academics and hands-on/life skills learning.Ability to plan creative lessons and outings tailored to the student’s interests.Reliable transportation for outings and field trips.Responsible, patient, and positive role model.Schedule & Pay2 sessions per week (flexible scheduling, approximately 3–4 hours per session).$20/hour, paid in cash weekly. * Starting immediately.
