QualificationsEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTBachelor's degree from 4-year college or university in Occupational Therapy from an Occupational Therapy approved school; no substitutions.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSNo additional experience.COMPUTER SKILLSAn individual should have knowledge of Database software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSCurrent Oklahoma license of Occupational Therapy. Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. Must have approval from the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision to supervise students, new graduates, technicians and aides. Must possess and maintain approval from the "Board" of the "unlicensed personnel" which they are to supervise. Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of employment and maintain throughout employment. Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIESMust have good judgement, problem solving, oral and written communication, and time management skills.Must have knowledge of inpatient medical environments and equipment such as oxygen/ventilation/respiratory apparatuses. Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to urgent medical situations that may arise with high risk or unusual patient populations. Ability to communicate with others in a clear, understandable, and professional manner, and demonstrate the use of good written and verbal communication. Ability to interact effectively with peers, executive, and medical personnel, and others in a positive manner. Ability to provide clear and accurate direction and guidance including the ability to train staff.OTHER QUALIFICATIONSEmployee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).Must be physically able to maintain a safe therapeutic environment. Must have experience with the geriatric and pediatric populations. Must have understanding of current Medicare and Medicaid billing regulations.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.This position will be split between Wilma P. Mankiller Health Center in Stilwell and Redbird Smith Health Center in Sallisaw.
