
Adult Programming Instructor SLC/SOMA-Weekends

- Provide climbing instruction for assigned adult programming classes;
- Attend instructional trainings;
- Assist with training new-hires, in accordance with our DOT system;
- Understand and execute principles of assessment and program design;
- Ensure instruction is provided in a fun and responsible environment and help students develop their technique;
- Greets participants as they arrive with friendliness and enthusiasm. Learn names!
- Enforce responsible climbing practices & address any irresponsible behavior immediately in a professional manner;
- Assist with maintaining the facility;
- Other roles and tasks as required.
- Passion for teaching;
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in climbing instruction and coaching;
- Must be available weekends and evenings
- Flexibility in schedule;
- Avid participant in outdoor sports such as climbing;
- Ability to lead and instruct a group of people;
- Knowledge of the use, care, and operation of climbing equipment;
- First Aid and CPR certified;
- CWI certified (The Front provides training upon hire);
- Communication skills and ability to motivate students positively;
- Friendly, approachable and service-oriented;
- High energy and positive attitude with a skill set to work well within a team environment;
- High level of communication skills and the ability to adapt in different situations;
- Basic understanding of program design;
- Demonstrated knowledge & experience in climbing techniques;
- Ability to reach, bend, twist, pull, and stoop (bend head or body forward or downward); grasp, turn, and manipulate objects; lift, or carry objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds; stand, sit, or walk for an extended time;
- Physical fitness is required to participate in classes and show participants proper exercise techniques;
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
