We are dedicated to excellence every day…JOB SUMMARYThe Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) II works in conjunction with the Home Health and Hospice Manager, Clinical Supervisor, and RN to perform a variety of basic patient care activities in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients within the framework of the Wyoming Nurse Practice Act.PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
  • Assist with basic patient care and Daily activities according to patient plan of care, including ambulation, dressing, activities of daily living, and patient safety.
  • Provides service excellence utilizing AIDET.
  • Observe patients and report unusual conditions and/or reactions to RN.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment.
  • Performs routine cleaning tasks.
  • Documents according to policy.
  • Alerts staff when supplies are needed and replenishes stock.
  • May be required to work on other nursing units.
  • Participates in committee/PI team in conjunction with strategic plan.
  • Complies with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • May be required to set up Life Line units in patient’s homes.
  • CNA II skills may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Sterile Technique
  • Wound care
  • Oropharyngeal suctioning
  • Tracheostomy care for patients with well established tracheostomy
  • Assisting with peripheral IV fluids (“Assisting with peripheral IVs refers to the set-up of equipment and discontinuing IVs. It does not include venipuncture or hanging IVs”)
  • Urinary catheter
  • Removes a urinary catheter
  • Obtains urine specimen from catheter port.
  • Gastrostomy and percutaneous endoscopic gastronomy (P.E.G.) feeding tubes in a stable site
  • Elimination procedures
  • Capillary blood glucose testing
  • Change ostomy wafer and bags
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
  • Education
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Completion of nurse’s aide certification (CNA)
  • Certification
  • Currently licensed as CNA in the State of Wyoming.
  • Experience
  • Previous experience preferred.
