- Developing and maintaining project schedules
- Developing and maintaining project progress tracking systems
- Generating project reporting and deliverables
- Coordinating with customer project controls representatives
- Assisting with development and negotiation of change orders, overhead extensions, claims/disputes, etc.
- Developing and maintaining project controls processes including but not limited to, document control, cost controls, and material tracking/procurement
- Understanding the project scope of work, contract documents and project controls requirements
- Assisting field supervision with technical queries and workface planning
- Overseeing, training, and evaluating junior project controls personnel (as required)
- Perform regular job walks to evaluate progress and site conditions
- Degree in Construction Management or a related technical degree
- Approximately three (3) to ten (10) years’ experience in industrial construction project controls
- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Understanding or proficiency in Microsoft Access and general database implementation
- Proficiency in reading drawings and understanding technical documents
- Strong understanding of project processes and their interdependence
- Strong technical writing skills
- Ability to work with other professionals with varying personalities and backgrounds
- Willingness to listen to and learn from other highly skilled construction professionals
- Willingness to travel and work overtime (as necessary)
- Ability to sit at a desk environment for many hours in a day
- Ability to regularly and consistently use a keyboard and mouse
- Ability to walk up and down stairs and around a jobsite
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- Ability to proficiently use office equipment (computer, copier, scanner, etc.)
