We are currently looking for a Harvest Production Supervisor - Must have experience in pork processing!!!One of my best clients in food production is confidentially seeking a Harvest Production Supervisor. Located in Northern Ohio, they are a family-owned company that has been in business for more than 60 years and committed to providing the highest quality products.The Harvest Production Supervisor position is responsible for assuring all production procedures are followed in the harvesting process.Essential Supervisor Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership and guidance to employees on the Harvest Floor.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Assign employees to a position after being hired, along with training, planning, and directing. Appraising performance along with disciplinary actions and addressing complaints and or assisting with providing appropriate resolutions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Performs daily walks and visual inspections of the Harvest Production floor in observation of unsafe acts or conditions; takes immediate corrective action where necessary.
  • Maintains safety/environmental self-audits & visual checks, champions all safety or ergonomic activities for the department and helps to develop and meet plant safety goals.
  • Maintains adequate knowledge of products and equipment to ensure the ability to direct employees to perform the job properly.
  • Ensures tasks are completed in accordance with HACCP and USDA regulations, taking
  • Works with the Superintendents/Supervisors and or Vice President to maintain knowledge of yields and variances, typical problem areas, and methods for corrections and improvement.
  • Suggests changes in workflow processes and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department and/or production crew to maintain the lowest level of downtime and product costs possible.
  • Maintains adequate knowledge of products and equipment to ensure the ability to direct employees to perform the job properly.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Bilingual is a plus)
  • Able to lead problem solving and troubleshooting efforts associated with high-level process issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • May be required to work long hours and weekends.
