The Carpentry team moves and maintains any Scenic elements for the show, ensuring the functionality of the pieces are safe and ready. Our Carp/Scenic teams will also keep the tent and venues tidy and ready for the show. We look for people with a background in fabrication, painting, maintenance repairs who bring keen attention to detail and resourcefulness. If we're mid-show and something breaks, we need to act fast and get it repaired.Our team sizes vary depending on the complexity of the production, and foster a structure of growth throughout the company, containing Technician and leadership positions where one can have a lifelong career in live entertainment. You must be available and authorized to work internationally full time (365 days).· Resident Shows Division (RSD) - resident shows in Las Vegas and Orlando· Affiliate Shows Division (ASD) - Blue Man Group (BMG), VStar, Cirque Dreams and The Works Entertainment, with both resident and arena touring options· Events & Experience (E&E) - sporadic events across the globe· Studio Teams in Montreal along with Costume and Production Workshops in Montreal and Las VegasMain tasks:· Run show tracks for placing or operating scenic elements during performances, training and maintenance;· Fix problems related to scenic elements and acrobatic equipment during performances;· Ensure all aspects of scenic-related operations function smoothly during rehearsals and performances;· Take part in inspecting, maintaining, altering and repairing equipment;· Ensure elements are correctly installed and consistent with the show's concept and safety;· Participate in load-in and load-out;· Use tools and procedures provided to manage inventory and equipment data.What we look for in candidates:· At least one year of previous experience as a professional Stage Carpenter working on large-scale productions;· Experience working as a run crew technician and running show cue tracks;· Advanced power and hand tool skills;· Ability to operate or train to operate various lifts and heavy equipment;· Standard theatrical construction technique experience;· Knowledge of basic mechanics, electricity and electronics an asset;· Experience in finish carpentry an asset;· Previous experience working in live entertainment;· Ability to relocate or travel 100% of time, depending on role;· Ability to complete necessary training and obtain applicable certifications;· Fluent in English, both written and spoken; Knowledge of other languages is an asset;· At least 18 years of age.** Please note: the above tasks and requirements are not intended to capture responsibilities and requirements for all positions, it is purely informational with intentions to share which positions we typically hire for. **Unique Benefits for each DivisionTouring shows (TSD)· Salary fixed on candidate level of expertise and experience and based on regulated salary scales;· Weekly touring allowance of US$200 and arena allowance if applicable;· Allocation of 2% of salary earnings for retirement or future life projects;· Vacation pay on every paycheck;· Transportation, lodging at our expense;· Variable schedule depending on market, no boredom guaranteed!;· On-site kitchen with top-notch cooks, free meals;· Group insurance, possibility of insuring your family if they travel with you.Resident show (RSD/ASD):· Salary per level of responsibility and expertise equivalent for all productions;· Eligible health benefits for full-time employees, possibility of insuring your family if eligible;· Stable work schedule for a work-life optimum balance and rhythm; On-Call positions available to provide a flexible schedule if working multiple jobs;· 401k for everyone with company matching up to 4%;· Free parking onsite.How does this work?Building pipelines of candidates for future opportunities is our way of making a quick connection to ensure the show continues to run smoothly, based on matchmaking your work preferences with our open positions.Entering the pipeline:· Apply on this posting or other departmental postings that interest you, answering the questions to indicate what you're open to.· If you're qualified, we will reach out to you to complete a preliminary interview where we will give you more information about the different divisions we have in the company, gauge your interests and run through some of your skillsets.On the pipeline:· After the preliminary interview, if things align, we will add you to a list to contact when there are open positions related to your work preferences shared in the preliminary interview.· The frequency at which you may hear about roles depends on what's opened on shows, if there are shows in creation, various projects, etc., meaning you could hear from us often at times and seldom during others.· If you want to opt-out of receiving emails at any point, you can let our team know.· Interested in the position?
