  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plans that identify patients’ needs and strengths
  • Provide individual and group counseling
  • Participate in weekly one-on-ones with your manager, as well as team meetings to discuss cases
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other service providers and family members
  • Maintain patient records consistent with regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards
  • Perform other duties as defined by the Program Director

  • CASAC or CASAC-T (Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor)
OR
  • Master’s degree in a program that will grant licensure in the state of New York
Location:Conveniently located on Elm Street in downtown Buffalo, Terrace House is a 68-bed facility offering stabilization and medically supervised detox treatment. We provide twenty-four-hour care to adults who need support, counseling, observation, nursing, and medical care to achieve initial stabilization from drug and/or alcohol withdrawal.Hours:This is a full-time position with a schedule from Tuesday to Saturday.
  • Two days: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Two days: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • One day: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Compensation:Horizon is consistently evaluating our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. The range of pay for this position is $50,960 - $62,296. Starting pay may be impacted based on experience and education. There is also a 15% pay differential for weekend hours worked. Compensation adjustments are evaluated annually.Residential Counselor Recruitment Bonus Program:Full Time Residential Counselors will receive $750 after 30 days of continuously working and another $750 after 6 months of continuously working for a total bonus of $1,500!Physical demands associated with this position include:
  • Sitting for extended periods, alternating between standing and sitting
  • Mobility required between worksites and within facilities
  • Mobility required with repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements
  • Handling light duties, occasionally lifting objects up to 20 pounds
