Our mission is to empower individuals, families, and communities by promoting hope, healing, and support. NKHS is a Designated Agency contracted with the State of Vermont to provide the highest quality of service in the areas of adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, children and youth with serious emotional disabilities, and adults with mental health and substance use challenges. We serve the populations of Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties through a wide variety of targeted programs for individuals of all ages. NKHS has over 450 employees providing case management, community and home supports, residential care, psychiatry, medication management, therapy, vocational supports, school based counseling, emergency care, and respite services. RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure continuous staffing and operation of the facility 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Implement and maintain a community-based site that fosters a supportive and home-like environment.
Complete all required trainings and ongoing specialized crisis trainings.
Establish and maintain a safe physical environment, adhering to relevant building safety standards. Provide clear guidelines and expectations, ensuring communication and adherence to established processes.
Facilitate and encourage participation in wellness-promoting activities tailored to individual needs, such as watching television, engaging in conversation, yoga, exercise, meditation, and reading.
Conduct conflict resolution skill-building activities to address interpersonal conflicts that may contribute to mental health crisis symptoms. Identify and practice alternative conflict resolution skills in a safe environment as part of crisis stabilization.QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent.
Experience working with individuals who have an intellectual/development disability preferred.
Valid driver's license and appropriate vehicle insurance requiredSALARY & BENEFITSCompetitive Pay! Starting at $22.00/hr + based on experience.
